About

Growing up in Windermere I first became involved & interested in furniture design and construction whilst attending the Lakes School, Cumbria . Moving on from there I spent an enjoyable  3 year furniture restoration and cabinetmaking course at Basford Hall College, Nottinghamshire.

I then began to hone my skills and build my knowledge in the antique`s trade before taking the plunge and setting up my first workshop in Kirkby Lonsdale in 1998. From the start I was busy with private and trade  customers alike, restoring valuable antique furniture and also producing many interesting cabinetmaking commissions.

In 2000 I had outgrown my original workshop and took up an offer of a larger workshop and showroom inside Yew Tree Barn , Newton in Cartmel, Cumbria , were I still reside today. This gave me the potential to retail antique pieces as well as my own handmade ones in my own showroom sales area.

Yew Tree Barn is a large 19th Century traditional Lakeland barn with a number of business inside trading in antique, reclaimed & architectural items open 7 days a week and I am normally in residence Monday to Friday but please do contact me first to avoid disappointment if you wish to discuss any restoration or commision.
